Description
Living in this villa is a unique experience in the history of design, and all completely surrounded and immersed in the breathtaking views of the lake from every angle. The house is large, sleeping 14 people in 5 bedrooms, with air conditioning in the lounge and 3 of the 5 bedrooms. The interiors are vintage designer, late 60s, older but comfortable with large spacious rooms. The private pool is very large and there is a shallow area just for the kids, fully furnished with loungers and umbrellas and with a rooftop terrace sitting area with absolutely breathtaking and complete lake views. The kitchen is fully equipped and spacious, and there are ample dining and lounging areas both indoors and out.

Villa Dolcelago is located in a private residential community, about 1.5km from the Port of Moniga. It is also about 1.5km from the historic centre of Moniga and its castle and shops, as well as the local shopping mall with supermarket, shops, and even a local pub that becomes a disco on weekend nights. A famous local trattoria, le Tre Santi, is in easy walking distance from the villa (about 800m), and the resort next door has a pizzeria also open to outsiders.
Moniga del Garda is a small town on the West shoreline of Lake Garda, with a picturesque harbour and a massive castle on the hill above the town, which you can see on the right as you drive into the town. You can walk inside the castle and explore the medieval architecture, like stepping back in time, but with a modern twist -- people still live in the castle, and inside there are actually streets with houses! The harbour area is particularly picturesque with a wide expanse of (pebble) beach, and a ferry port where you can get a ferry to any other destination. Desenzano, Salo, Portese, San Felice and Gardone are nearby.
Full hands-on luxury service, including professional cleaning, hotel quality linens & towels and concierge service is provided by Holiday-Garda. - Bedrooms: 14 spleeps in 5 rooms: family room with double bed and double sofa bed, air conditioning, lake view and terrace. Room with double bed and a single bed with lake view, air conditioning and terrace. Room with double bed and a single bed with lake view and air conditioning. Double room with garden view. Room with double bed on the living area floor with garden view.
- Bathrooms: 5 bathrooms, one outside and 4 inside the villa: the bathrooms in the villa are completely renovated with large and modern showers. Of these 3 bathrooms are en-suite and are located in the sleeping area. The fourth bathroom is on the living area, new with shower serves the bedroom on the ground floor and the living room. A bathroom with shower in the pool area.
- Kitchen: Kitchen is fully equipped with lots of cupboard space and all major and minor appliances, including dishwasher, fridge, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and a Nespresso coffee machine.
- Indoor Dining/Lounge: Large open space lounge and dining area surrounded by glass and lake view with terrace. Vintage circular wet bar, 42" flat screen TV with sky satellite. Lounge seats 8, Dining seats 12.
- Outdoor Dining/Lounge: There is a very large portico, with three big tables seating total 25+ and a large built-in gas barbecue. There is another table for 12 with lake views on the lakefront terrace off the lounge.
- Pool: Very large private swimming pool (16x8m) with a childrens shallow end area (60cm high). At is deepest, the pool is over 3.5m deep with a normal and a high diving board. Fully furnished with deck chairs, sun loungers and umbrellas. Bathroom, changing room, showers by the pool.
- Air Conditioning in 3 of the 5 bedrooms and in the dining/lounge.
- Rooftop Terrace: Elegant roof top terrace, has unhindered and breathtaking lake views, furnished with loungers.
- Garden: 4000sqm garden with flowers and mature shrubs and trees, terraced down the steep hillside to the beach, with stair access. Fenced for animals and children.
- Beach: Direct access by private gate to the beach.
- Media: 42" TV with HDMI and USB connections and digital cable. Astra satellite connection.
- Wifi included.
- Playground area: Swingset and climbing structure for children by the pool, table tennis, Paddle board sup.
- Private Tennis court: The tennis court is quite old, in disrepair, but good for amateur tennis and fun.
- Custodian: The villa has a full-time custodian who lives 250m from the Villa and keeps the gardens and pool in constant perfect condition.
- Parking: covered parking for 3 cars, open parking for 3 more.
- Safe for valuables.
- Other: Washing machine, iron and ironing board in dedicated utility room, and hairdryers in all bathrooms.
- Pets: Pets are welcome in the villa. There is a pet fee of 100 euros per animal

Loved the large pool, variety of terraces and lots of indoor space. Direct access to the beach and use of paddle board was brilliant. We enjoyed the 20 minute walk into Moniga and a short drive to the port for boat hire. There is a small mini market and restaurant with takeaway only 5 minute walk from the house. Host responded quickly to any questions we had and to problems with the house. Being an older house, there were a few issues which we weren’t able to resolve during our stay, particularly in one of the bathrooms.

Die Bebauung des Hanggrundstücks ist so genial, dass man von der komplizierten Hanglage eigentlich nichts mehr mitbekommt. Eingangs der Tennisplatz (der leider seine besten Jahre schon lange hinter sich hat, aber das weiss man ja vorher, wird auch so beschrieben), auf der nächsten Ebene der richtig gute und mit dem Sprungturm für Kinder optimale Pool und unter dem Tennisplatz ein Poolhaus mit Duschen und WC, dann das Haus mit einer fantastischen Sonnenterrasse als Dach und somit auf einer Ebene mit dem Pool, darunter in den Hang reingebaut das Haus mit zwei Stockwerken. Spektakuläre Ausblicke auf den See von den Terrassen und den Schlafzimmern aus, kaum zu beschreiben, durch die riesigen Fensterfronten erst richtig bombastisch. Auf dem Abstieg zum See noch eine Waschküche und Dusche/WC für die Seeschwimmer. Der Zugang zum See mit kleinem Kiesstrand, kaum andere Menschen in der Nähe. Vor der Haustür noch eine grosse Terrasse mit Sitzgelegenheit, unter dem Dach der Sonnenterrasse gelegen, somit zu jeder Tageszeit angenehm schattig und mit Grillgelegenheit ausgestattet.
Abgerundet wird das ganze durch die liebenswerte, immer freundliche und enorm hilfsbereite Novelle von Holidaygarda. Stellvertretend sei hier erzählt, dass sie nach einem Sturm innerhalb von zehn Minuten da war und uns mit den ausgefallenen Sicherungen half. Vielen Dank nochmal auf diesem Wege, Novelle!!!

Verbesserungswürdig sind die Bäder, die sollten dringend renoviert werden. Nicht funktionierende Abflüsse in den Duschen, alles etwas alt und langsam unappetitlich. Nicht unsauber, aber eben echt alt. Zum Duschen bin ich ins Poolhaus gegangen, da funktionierte wenigstens das Warmwasser und der Abfluss.
